- During my PhD training, I had the privilege of participating in the Hopkins Engineering Applications & Research Tutorials (HEART) program, through which advanced graduate students and postdoctoral fellows design courses to provide undergraduates with the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge engineering research and its societal impact. Specifically, I designed and instructed HEART Foundations of Statistical Machine Learning which introduced both the theoretical foundations of modern statistical machine learning models and the implementation of these algorithms in the R programming language; additional details are provided in the Nature Machine Intelligence publications below in which I shared my reflections and perspective on increasing diversity and inclusion in the machine intelligence community:
